I missed these two...

Today was the first day back. It was tough, I can't wait until Friday, yes tomorrow, at 3 o'clock.

Monday, March 14

Moments I will miss.

It has been so amazing to stay home and enjoy being mom and JUST mom. I don't care what anyone thinks, it is the BEST job. I loved being a part of every moment and change. I will be heading back in two days. I am exciting to see my kids and get back into our schedule, but I will miss my own kids every minute.
Here are a few of the fun things I was able to catch with the camera.
Playing in the bath with baby. Hailee is very imaginative; they were making dinner. Carter is a big helper! Dressing up this handsom man and taking his picture. I have done it MUCH less than I ever did with Hailee, partly because he has half the clothes, and partly because I am just too buisy. He is so adorable. I can't believe how much he is eating these days. He must be growing!
Playing out in the snow. I haven't actually been into the snow too much, but Carter and I go walk around and watch Hailee. She was pretending the dogs were her babies. She kept calling them "sweetheart" and fixing them food with the snow. They are good sports.

This is what Carter looks like most of the time we are outside. He is popped out more than usual, but it was really warm day.

Hailee is into doing everything by herself. This was a funny moment, where she came back into the room with her pants on backwards. She didn't even notice it! I had to take a few photos before I fixed them.

Mostly I am going to miss our cuddling in the morning. Hailee sleeps in and so Carter and I get some alone time in the morning. He is always smiling and looking around. When Hailee comes up, she looks for him first and snuggles up. It is just so calming for me, especially in comparison to our crazy mornings when I am trying to get to work.

Summer is only 81 days away. I might need to make a chain like Hailee's!

On May 3rd

Hailee has a birthday coming up in approxiamately 51 days. She is VERY excited as it will mean a party with all of her favorite people and a big pink princess cake. The rest of the birthday fun will probably just be icing on the cake. To help Hailee grasp the idea of 51 days, we made a chain link. She can't wait to pull the first one off in the morning. It was a fun project, full of counting, cutting, and taping.
She has a hard time pulling off the number 3 with her fingers. We are practicing. We do have 51 days...

First Smiles

Carter is 5 weeks today. He officially popped out his smile this morning! What an adorable smile it is!

Family

Us after our first family outing on the farm. Don't worry, Carter was totally asleep.
Kitty. He chills with the ducks and geese in the pig pen. He comes out for food.

Princess. She is all fuzy and getting so big.

Cow. I couldn't believe how excited she got for food.

Sister. She LOVES carrots. They make her a little crazy. She was digging into our pockets for them.
This is how Carter rolls. All snug in mommy's coat. I love my wrap!!

This is how Hailee rolls. Her dad pulls her around on her snowmachine sled. And above, he carries her on his shoulders.
Her dad is one tough stud! She rocks!
The best people in the world are in your family!!!

Our little girl.

Hailee has changed by leaps and bounds since Carter arrived. She is very helpful, smart, opinionated, creative, loving, talented, and funny. Her personality shines for miles. I know I am her mom and thus, I am biased. Honestly though, I have a hard time telling people she is two because she acts like she is much older.

Hailee has more energy than the rest of us. She wears us all out with her games, dancing, and silly stories. This is a picture of Hailee with my dad. He was trying to get her to go to bed, but she put him to sleep instead as usual. I love how she is totally scrunching his head.

This is a super silly Hailee. It is very typical for her though. She loves playing with her "measure." She runs all over saying how tall this is, or that. She measures her baby several times a day, just to see how much he is growing.

This is my little ballerina/model/ cheeseball. She got a tutu last year for her birthday. It recently made a second appearance and is worn atleast once a day. She calls it her "ballet" not a tutu. I went shopping and got her a leatard and princess gloves to go with it. She wore it until bedtime, when I MADE her take it off. We did our research and ballet classes start at 3 years old. I have a few friends whose little girls would be interested as well. We might just start up with ballet in a couple months!!! YEAH!!!

This is hotrod Hailee. She was able to romp her jeep around at grandpa's the other day. She had a ton of fun out there throwing snowballs at grandpa and dad. She was also quite the machanic, always having to fix that jeep.

Here is another ballet picture of Hailee. She was dancing for her brother, who was in the swing actually watching her. He watches her alot. Notice the lack of ballet shoes, so did Hailee. Those are on the way.

This is Hailee at the end of the day. Completely worn out. She loves to go out and work with her dad. There isn't very many things she doesn't like to do.

This is Belle, our minature cat, and Hailee before Church. Belle is the super small for a cat her age. She hasn't grown since September when we got her as a kitten. She eats all the time, but doesn't seem to grow. She is a happy little cat though. She has a love/hate feeling for the attention Hailee gives her.

Hailee is a great helper with Carter. She has been really good to stay in her limits. I see her getting braver every day. She also started mimmicing me and others who take care of Carter. She nurses her babies, changes their "ew, poopy diapers," rocks them, walks around while they cry, and takes pictures of them. Typical mom right?

Hailee is growing just as quick as Carter. I tend to be hard on her because I am tired and lacking patience. A few of Hailee's funny moments:

1. The other day she got in trouble, and she talked back. She will say "No, you pick up the toys!" Well I have been putting her in time out for this behavior. So, in response I reminded her, "Hailee, you don't talk to Mom that way. You will go to time out." She responded, "You don't talk that way Mom!" I say in my stern mom voice, "HAILEE." She replies in her stern Hailee voice, "BRITNEY." I took her to time out and then laughed like crazy. It is hard to explain being amazed by her and upset at the same time. I really don't want her to be the naughty kid and it is hard figuring out how to teach her that.

I know I've said this before, but Hailee LOVES other kids. She remembers them and asks to play with different kids all the time. Her cousins Nic and Trudy are her favorites. She attaches to people all the time. She will talk to everyone in Walmart. She always asks about birthdays and invites them to her party on May 3rd.

Hailee is getting into make-believe big time. She is busy being a mommy, nurse, teacher, and waitress. At every meal she asks us about our day at work and school, even if there was none that day. She takes our orders for meals on a little tablet. Not always, but sometimes she tells you what to order. It is either chicken nuggets or hot dogs.

Her babies tend to get sick a lot. We have to take them to the doctor and give them medicine.

She takes what she sees and uses it to help her pretend. The other day she needed to pick up a game. She asked if we could call Agent Oso to help. He is a panda that helps kids on this TV show.

She loves Toy Story. She likes to pretend her toys are those off the movie. She lines them up for Woody to talk to. She pretends to give them away to a little girl.

I am really glad I was chosen to be Hailee's mommy. She is a great girl!

Someday I'll be a year.....

There is a song on NIK Jr. that goes, "I'm sittin' here I'm one day old, I'm sittin' here I'm two days old, someday I'll be a year, then I 'll be two, then three, then four...But as for now I'm one day old. One day old and no days more.
Well that song sticks in my head especially as I see how FAST my kids are growing.

This is Carter at 4 1/2 weeks. Yes, like his sister, he loves to stand and stretch his legs. When he is on his belly he is always pushing himself forward. I think he will be crawling within the next month:) Not really, but he is one tough little man!

Carter at 4 weeks. This is the outfit we brought him home in. I chose it as a comparison. He is getting big and it actually fits him now. I love his shoes too. They are too big, but they match perfectly.

Carter at 3 1/2 weeks. He is so precious in this picture. Carter and I had a little photo shoot in the car while his dad was in a meeting and his sister slept. The blue on him is really a good color. I love how babies keep their hands up close to the faces.

Carter at 3 weeks. This picture is of him in his pajamas after his second real bath. His belly button came off the day before his circumcision. He had a bath in between, but other than that the first 3 weeks involved sponge baths only! He doesn't like the "after bath," but he loves the water. His sister LOVES to help.

Carter at 2 1/2 weeks. He is definately a little man. I have lots of fun, and I have been trying to take pictures like crazy. I lost all of Hailee at this age, but I know I took a lot more of her. I am trying though!

I love this little guy. He is growing and doing so well. I'm really attached to him and hate the thought of going back to school in a couple weeks. I know it is only 10 weeks until summer, but it is WAY too LONG!
