January

This month has been filled with great moments. I have been busy coaching a great bunch of girls from my class in basketball. They are making a lot of progress, and with their motivation and talent, will be an excellent addition to our highschool program.

Hailee has spent a lot of time chatting with real and pretend people on the phone. She is lucky to have enough options available to call, that she normally converses with a Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, or Uncle. Below is a conversation she had with her Aunt Cathy. She is having full out conversations now, which is completely heartbreaking!!! She tells people she is doing "good" and that she is "one." She also tells them about her movies, lunch, and games she is playing. I love that she is learning so much and is such a smartie, but I HATE that she is growing up!!! She is also catching on to everyday tasks. She'll pick up the broom and get out rags when I am cleaning and start to help out. She also loves to help make dinner, cookies, and snacks! Below she got out a can of corn and the can opener, then she slid out her "table" (a bread drawer, we never use) and started making dinner.

The three of us (Curt, Hailee, and I) have spent a lot of quality time together. After going to my game and making a trip to Rexburg, we went for a ride and then sledding. It was a beautiful day! I love days where the world seems perfect, and I don't even think about the things that I should do, need to do, and forgot to do!!!

These pictures were taken right here on the farm.
We are so lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful scenery!

This experience was hillarious. We had riden up on top of the Butte on the farm. Curt and I kept falling right through the massive amount of fresh pouder. Hailee was like an energizer bunny. She got off the sled and started walking. I think she wanted to walk into the canal below or something. She walked FOREVER down this hill and Curt chased after her, which was difficult considering the snow. It was pretty funny watching her so determined to walk down the hill!

It was a great day with my very best friends. We had a blast!!!

These pictures were taken a while back. Hailee got a HUGE sticker book for Christmas. She got pretty overwhelmed by the idea of stickers. She loved them and all hated having to choose just one. She would pick one for you to take off and then change her mind. She wanted them to always go right back into their original spots. Well after spending an evening with her friend Berick, she learned that the stickers can be fun when they go all over your face. She came home and hasn't had too much of a problem since.

Our little Movie Fan.
She got this shopping cart from Aunt Cindy for her birthday. Up until recently she thought of the thing as a recliner. She would crawl in and relax. A while ago I noticed her using it to push her babies around, and then I noticed she would pile it up with some real treasures. She loves her movies and now that they are more accessible she is constantly loading them up. She piles them high then tells us bye as she heads to leave!!! It cracks us up....

A memory worth remembering.

Tonight as I sat down to read Hailee a book, we chose the book Christina wrote about Grandma Trudy. I opened it up and right away Hailee points out her Grandpa Roy, but then she notices Grandma all on her own. She calls her "Grandma Trudy" and finds her in every picture.

During prayers tonight Hailee made a special prayer for her grandpas. She is so fortunate to have great men in her life, most of which are her grandpas! Each one has a special relationship with her and she never misses a chance to spend time with them. She also started doing the song, "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" which I am sure is her way of thanking Heavenly Father for her body!

She is getting big and I am not ready. I love that she prays with us and that she has already made a special place in her heart for both Grandma Trudy and my sister Heidi. She knows them well and hopefully always will. They were great examples for her and it is our huge job to make sure she doesn't miss out!

Tonight I miss not knowing Trudy. Christina wrote a beautiful book and I know Trudy would be very proud of her for supplying so many of us with memories we never would have known. I am always in awe at the mysteries of our Heavenly Father. He is very creative in how he teaches us and helps us grow. I know that without my sister I have had to learn alot about patience, courage, faith, and love among many more lessons. Curt's family also continues to grow and learn through their loss. It's peculiar to me how Trudy was never a major part of my life and yet I miss her. I miss not knowing her and I feel Curt's void without her as well. I guess that is one of our strongest bonds.

I am so grateful for the fullness of the gospel. It is a strength beyond all else. It is powerful to understand our pain and know it is only temporary. I am very grateful for family to build and overcome the loss together. I am grateful for a young spirit in my home to remind me of the important things in life. Tonight, I am grateful for prayer. I believe it is through prayer that I have recieved all the strength to accept the Lord's Will.

Hairbiz...and more...

First of all some things to note with the Princess shown below.

Hailee:

  • Loves to play "hide-and-go-seek". She always has the same hiding places!

  • Will eat as many "gogogs" and pancakes as you will let her.

  • Loves to take walks, and tries to get little ones (who aren't yet walking) to hold her hand and go!

  • Doesn't miss a chance to go feed with dad and grandpa, she is up putting on boots before her dad can even get to his.

  • Is a MAJOR princess fan! She knows them all by name and can match them up everytime! She also knows their little friends, such as Flounder, Mrs. Potts, and Rajia.

  • Wraps her babies up in towels even though Grandma Lorelei made her super cute baby blankets!

  • Doesn't like to get dirty and will use TONS of napkins wiping her face and hands while she eats!

  • Loves chatting with lots of family via Skype. She looks for them everytime the computer is out! She esspecially loves looking for Uncle Mike!

  • Eats everything Grandpa Layne gives her!

  • Loves putting things in her pockets.

  • Carries her "make-up" bag around and loves sharing with everyone around!

  • Is the sweetest girl we know!

Hailee and Aunt Roni showing off their best smiles. "Say Cheese!"

I love that we are finally getting to this stage and past the non-stop, esspecially for a picture stage!

Dad is helping Hailee work the distance ski jump on the Wii. She was SO cute playing this game.

And......

Yes, tada! I cut my hair. Heather did a great job, and I am quickly falling in love with it.

At first I was pretty hesitant just because it was pretty different from what I had before.

Speaking of hair, I can't believe how old she can look when her hair is all up in a ponytail!

As you can see she is sporting her "cheesy" grin!

The Games Wii Play...

We got out the Wii fit. It was a very entertaining and Hailee didn't want to miss out.

Good thing it is a TWO player game, and lucky for us, we had an extra board!

We also played "The Redneck Game of Life"
This is a game that puts the more focus on teeth and luck, than on money and smarts. Basically, it is hillarious and totally applicable to any family with interesting relatives, neighbors, or lives!

The above is a picture of a few of the characters. I am sure it won't take you long to match a few real people to these wax figurines! They are actually extra but totally worth the cost, as they add a few extra laughs! The extra kit also comes with more cars and houses.
The cars and houses are all real pictures from actual situations.

The game is completely random consisting of children out of wedlock, racing for pink slips, taking in stepchildren named Darryl (Yes, it is possible to have 12 stepchildren named Darryl in this game!).

We always have a lot of fun because the game changes every round and new people make it better by adding their "personal" connections!

Come on over, let's play a game, eh?

To fillin the details.

A couple days after Christmas Hailee went out to play and feed horses. She had tons of fun, and especially loved the snow. We caught her eating it all the time, but she would get in trouble when she ate the snow that was brought in the house from all of our boots. Needless to say I blame bad snow off of daddy's boots as the culprit in our week and a half sickness.

This cheesy grinned girl had no idea what was about to hit, and neither did we!

Within a matter of hours, she started with all of the regular flu symptoms (minus the fever). She never got a fever and we never got sick. This is why I rule out flu because there were a lot of people around, with a lot of chances to get sick! She slept and practically lived in this little toddler chair, when she wasn't in our arms of course!

We did load after load of laundry and the poor thing couldn't stop!

She went from 24 lbs to 19 lbs! We took her in 3 times, but she never was dehydrated enough to go to the hospital.

Unfortunately while she was sick she went back to several bad habbits! She got attached to watching movie after movie. She won't take her "mimmi" out of her mouth. She doesn't like to sleep in her bed anymore. She hates it when her dad leaves her sight (he stayed home with her for a week!) She wants everything just her way-no matter what! But....

It is all TOTALLY worth it to have our amazing princess laughing and playing again! She is such a blessing and we are so awed by her! Thanks for being a tough cookie Hailee, we love you!

Amidst All the Challenges...

There are always those moments where everything seems perfect and wonderful!

Always the helper!

I miss this little girl...

Hailee hasn't laughed, played, chatted, made a mess (toy wise), thrown a tantrum, or got into something she wasn't supposed too for almost a week.
I want my happy little Hailee back. I am sick of the skinny, tired, sick baby.
I want to make it all better and I can't!!!
Truly one of the hardest parts in being a mom is not being able to help your sick baby!
We love you Hailee, get better...
