I am so glad that I was able to go to the girl's championship game last night. Our Lady Huskies played SOOSOOSOSO well. I am very impressed by their aggression and ability.

North Fremont Huskies win district championship
ST. ANTHONY -- Shouts of joy, tears, hugs and a whole lot of smiles was the scene on the North Fremont side of the gym at South Fremont High School Thursday night. The Huskies became district champions with a 44-27 over West Jefferson. "This was our dream," said North Fremont coach Ben Lenz after receiving the champion trophy and helping his girls cut down their winning net. "I've been here a couple different times and fell short. To finally see that happen for the school, for the kids, is just, I can't explain it.Updated: Thursday, February 12, 2009 10:56 PM MST

I couldn't help but remonise about my own days out on the court. I LOVED BASKETBALL! It really was the highlight of my high school days. We practiced hard and tried to play even harder. I was able to play with so many talented friends. We worked hard and we actually were very good.
Every summer, just like the girls today, we spent a good month going to tournaments, camps, and pretty much anything Coach wanted us to do. We did Saturday League in Idaho Falls every spring, playing teams like Bonneville, Hilcrest, Shelley, and Skyline. It was so much fun. We trashed Coach's already trashed car, and were pretty much like sisters.
We were ranked for State and played undefeated almost my whole senior year. In the end, just like every year, we crumbled. Something would happen during Districts that would break us down. Granted, we played very tough teams. We played teams that won State the year before or even the year after. No excuses, we had beaten them before, but not when it mattered.
Last night that trend ended and we have our first Girl's Basketball District Champions. I am so happy that finally we have crossed that bridge. There is no longer the idea that it has never happened before, because it did. This group of girls is very talented and they have paved the way. Coach Lenz deserves so much to go to state because he is an amazing coach.
I hope one day that Hailee will love basketball and be able to play for the same school and coach that I did. She enjoys the games, so that is a good sign!
Just a little thought from the past. Keep looked for pictures from the past too!!!
